Jemdate 1Sep2004

After rearranging quite a few of my priorities and realizing that I didn't want any of the posts to go away for now, I removed that option.  I have yet to redesign the site like I want to, nor have I posted any discussion topics, and it looks like everyone is as busy as me because not even the c-sisters have posted (carmen and catherine BTW) to the discussion forum for a while.  If they have any classes like mine, I am sure they have their hands full.  Calculus is taking up most of my time, as I realize slowly that this is my problem class, I can do the homework for any of my other classes, but when I look at that mammoth book of a Calc 1 I just cringe.  I think I am going to have to work on that, because I am going to have a lot less time starting today!  I start Wal-mart today, and after going there a couple of times, there is one really important thing, the parking lot is flat!  I guess I won't get the work out that I am used to, but I think that it still will be useful to me, I will just have to exercise more.  Institute has been quite fun at 8:00 in the morning, it is nice to sprinkle that in with all my other 'earthly' classes  wink Just about time to head off to college, trying to shut down my internet access time, and the modem access is the thing that will help the most, its so SLOW smile[/i]

Re: Jemdate 1Sep2004

Well, I had my first day at Wal-mart yesterday.  What a joke, it makes me want to puke.  Its too easy.  I miss my old wal-mart, at least that one made me work HARD, I guess this one is ok, it keeps me busy at all time because there are only about 5 cart pushers total, and the other ones that I know 2 work in the mornings, and the two that work with me, don't work, so I have plenty to do.  BUT EVEN THEN, its ridiculously slow, all well, guess I can't have everything.  BTW, there is no electronic cart pusher, and I lost the dollar differential (I guess I got at least half of it back)  But wow, what a first day of the full grind.  I did meet a really neat cashier named Joe, he has two jobs to prepare for grad school and a baby that is coming in two months, I can relate with the two jobs.  And for all you stockman out there, imagine Jim being a stellar stockman compared to these guys here, I mean super stellar.  Thats about what I got, they each have their different reasons for doing what they do, but it is interesting nonetheless.  Well, before I insult my new Wal-mart to much more, I do need to say that I enjoyed my first night there, that said, all I can do is laugh and laugh and laugh. lol

Re: Jemdate 1Sep2004

Well only having 5 stockmen sounds like where i work now (six if ya count jim). It sucks very bad and it almost goes empty everyday. The good point is none of us have heard from management since you have been gone, so i guess they think if they ignore us maybe we won't ever say anything. So far their plan has worked, we still only complain to eachother and meaningless other managers, oh well i guess.  I think we have all had about enough and are looking for new jobs. Side note, there is talk of building another Wal-Mart in lees summit, so they can fully own Lee's Summit and put other side of town's smallers businesses out on the street.
