Kingdom Hearts 2 is getting a rather unique mix of reactions from critics. Gamespot gave it a 8.7, which is better than what the first got from them (8.2). Here's a link to there review. http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/kingdom … id=6146742
IGN, on the other hand, pretty much hashed it where they could, and I can't say I'm surprised because they're pointing out things that I know even the first Kingdom Hearts had issues with. Here's a link to IGN's review (score breakdown on 3rd page). http://ps2.ign.com/articles/698/698697p1.html
Admittedly, this does deter me. I didn't want KH2 to be another button masher. Whether this talks me out of it entirely remains to be seen. I will say that I don't see myself buying this before it hits $20, and this may very well be one of those games I buy for the production values. We'll see what happens there.
Meanwhile, Metroid Prime Hunters was another game I was looking forward to that I'm also detered from... though this was less a function of reviews and more a function of the realization that an FPS on a handheld may not sit that well with me.
The position this puts me in is that KH2 and Hunters may end up being impulse buys in the future. Low prices and the lack of other games to buy can create a fickle reaction within me. :0f:

If people keep on talking about how they've bought it and loved it, I'm going to give in very soon, especially if I happen to go see someone playing it.
But you're right, if it's a button masher...talk about tired thumbs. You could always flip a coin and see what happens. Like which one you'll buy.

I dreamed about playing the game last night. Something tells me I want to buy it...

You're wrong. Both KH2 reviews were posted yesterday (the day of this topic). That is new.
