Hey Jeremy! (It's dreamy! Mm...like..those ice cream bars...

That's it.  *Dramatic pose* Your words have inflated my non existant bag of brains.  It says, it calls, and soothes and tells me I must post something useful for you.  Oh, the joy I can see that's not on your face but perhaps the complex or simple expression of, "You belong in a mental hospital." But don't worry, I have my own tie-dyed straight jacket, so I won't need to borrow yours.  Isn't that so lovely of me?  (Wow, if I really had this ego, I think I'd be dead. Like orange juice pulp. GUSHY!)

Anyway...*Waltzes around* I PRESENT TO YOU:

*~*~*~*Drumm roll*~*~*~*~*

THE DREAM THREAD!

Thank-you, thank-you.  I invite all of you to post your dream insanity.

(Dreamt March 3rd.  Written on March 4th.)

I had a very unique dream last night. It began with an almost fathomless, dark, icy sea. Mist shivered and the rain clicked down in torrents. The water swirled, drowning, reeling. I could feel it pulling and tugging at me, so powerful, so immense that I could not comprehend its tide. Then, above the tugging of the crashing waves, I heard something-an endless roar and there was a pillar of white water rising into the fog. Then my dream changed, as if I was having some sort of ?memory.?

There was a large playground and a bright, rainbow colored fortress made of steel and iron. The happy children playing among the playground toys was simply an illusion and through my harpy eyes, I knew it for what it was. *

There was a wizard there, though no name was present but ?The White Wizard.? He had a soft, pointy hat and long, permed pastel cornstalk hair and a stained glass belt of purples, yellows, blues, and greens. That belt was also fringed with gold. He also carried a staff but I do not know what it was. And my brain is telling me to say that I can bet the belt was the source of his power.

There was a huge canyon from which the water sprung and a metal staircase from which the wizard was climbing down. I was standing on the other side of the canyon on a huge metal box of steel for the wheel that made the wall of water with two of my harpy sisters.

He turned and scowled at me and raised a shout. I watched him, turned, and the memory ?cleared.?

I was driving in my van, still a harpy. (Now what I mean by harpy is that I had a tail and bat like wings, and sort of looked like a gargoyle. I could fly with my magic when I was ?human? and being human simply meant people could not see our tails/wings. Our skin tint was bluish-white.) I was driving at night, through the streetlights along a very narrow, damaged road. On my right there was the sea, or some kind of lake. A gray sort of mountain range surrounded it for miles and there was hardly any moonlight to be seen. I was driving pretty fast and the road was rather curvy, so it quite predictable as to what happened next.

I passed a few old people and as I drove around the curve, the road suddenly ended. I knew as soon as I saw it, that I was going in the sea with my van. We practically flew off of the dirt bank and crashed into the mountain. I had flung open the door during its descent and so as water began to fill my van, I sploshed out.

Instantly, it was if I was frozen. And white frost covered me, sort of that freeze burn stuff they use on worts. I could hardly move. The water, which should have been colder than the frost, was warmer than it. I struggled to move, as if I was paralyzed. I pushed against the rocky mountain and tried to move. I then thought, perhaps I could come out and fly once my body warmed because my muscles were beginning to relax and so I began to swim backwards. However, there was some kind of force stopping me.

Soon enough, however, I was warmed and I could move, partially because one of my sister harpies appeared to help me out of the water and fly over to the bank, asking if I was okay.

As soon as my heavy feet landed on the muddy bank and my sister, who had driven up in her van and had come to a screaming halt, I realized I did not have the eggs with me.

?The eggs!? I yelled as my heart trembled and my sister, a dark redhead, smiled mischievously.

?Remember, sister, we are harpies,? she laughed and leapt/flew over to the sinking van and retrieved the precious nest with the half dozen eggs. Apparently, too, harpies can breathe underwater, so going into water and swimming are second nature to harpies.

She came back quick enough and handed it to me. I searched around for somewhere to put it, perhaps in the back of her van, which was open. I needed to put it somewhere safe.

?Get a black rock,? my sister instructed me, for she knew my mind.

I walked over to the bank, beside a very twisted, dark tree. My feet sank in the mud easily and I clutched and grabbed the rocks with my toes, my eyes adjusting to find a black rock among the darkness. Quickly I buried the eggs with the nest and patted them over. With the rock in my right hand I placed it above it. Right as I did so, my sister urged me with a hiss to look up.

There on the road an old man stood, dressed in ragged clothes?a red and black checkered scarf, puke green hat, light puke green jacket, brown pants, black boots. He had a grizzled, white beard and was sturdy but short.

He humphed and said disdainfully, ?Harpies. If I were you, I?d get out before my Hunter friend finds you.?

I looked around and walked up towards him.

?We mean you no harm.?

He humphed again, ?I suppose I could turn you over...or I could not.? He jerked his head and my sister and I turned to each other. We turned left, leaving everything, and ran. Flapping our arms, our wings, we flew off towards the clouded sky frosted with stars. As we flew higher, it grew colder and just above the mountaintops I cried, ?But what about the eggs!??

?There?s nothing we can do now,? she replied and we flew on.

We arrived at the place where I had stood looking at the wizard. Our other sister had joined us.

Everything was murky and misty. We landed with the crunch and creak of steel. I looked around, searching for the wizard, fearing he was near. But there was no sense of danger save for the old man?s echoing words. The Hunter.

Gyrating, I stood and stared at the waterfall as my older sister murmured, ?I hard of a place, the North Arctic, said to be safe for harpies. I don?t know if it?s possible to get there....?

The North Arctic. Cold, frozen, barren, surrounded by a magical barrier. A barrier that was constantly replenished, I thought, for how long could the barrier hold? But it was said to save us...

?Then let?s go!? I said and bounded off the box. The wind buffeted me, almost slamming me down.

?No, sister!? the elder cried, ?The wind is too strong. We will go tomorrow.?

I circled back and nodded, then lightly stepped towards the next platform below. I did not center myself on my magic to fly, nor did I flap my arms as I ought. So instead of soaring when I jumped, I fell with a big bang. My sisters were already focusing on flight and entering into the illusional realm the White Wizard had conjured up.

We landed straight in a huge shopping mall/department** store in front of the Hunter, upon which I saw, I turn and ran down the isle, flapping my arms for flight and escaped behind a bookshelf. There was a man there who was putting books back.

?Quick!? he said, ?Fly!?

I jumped up and began flying crazily about the store, my sisters close swirling behind me.

It was then that my dream ended for I awoke. I think I got away, at any rate.

*Note: I?ve had this playground in my dreams before. I tend to have dreams that combine places quite often.

**I have also had this huge mall/department store appearing in my dreams again and again. Maybe it means I need to go shopping?

Dream thread huh, that sounds a little gory at least for me.  Of course some nights are better than others.  I'll have to think, most of them I just let pass back into my subconscious.

Agh. Nah, my dreams aren't gory.  In fact...most don't even show violence. I like....never get hurt, really.  My brain may pass over like I'm running for something but mostly, nothing happens.  I don't even think I've dreamed with blood in my dreams..hmmm.
