Oy! Probably not exactly what they had in mind...

It's funny, after hearing church leaders and seminary teachers telling me, and many others, to keep a journal, something I've avoided since the beginning, I finally started writing one today.

Well... it's not exactly a journal of my life events.  lol.  Instead, I'm starting to keep a journal of my project status.  In other words, any ideas of stuff I plan to put into my novel project, which I usually corner off into its own section of notes, I'll probably stick in the journal more and more.  Somehow, in journal format I type more.  It's like I'm talking to someone, rather than just writing weird science type stuff (though it seems my first entry does still retain a scientific manner in explaining stuff).

Weird.  Well, it's something at least.  Little baby steps.  Plus it's fun.  big_smile

When asked about his opinion of the PS3's competing systems, 360 and Wii, Sony's SCE president, Ken Kutaragi, says:  "We don't care."
Translation:  "We're going to get 0wned this gen."

lol, funny. I'm having fun writing all about myself, that way im satisfied that i told someone about myself, and then when i talk to others i don't feel particularly inclined to dominate the conversation about myself. (though i do anyway)

Well...I have gone through so many phases of journal keeping that I have twirled my head.   THere is thousands of ways to keep your journal and different drives to keep it going...I've done a lot, if not all.

But actually, I realy enjoy doing notes for my stories.  It is never a good idea to go 100% into a story or novel or even just drawing a picture without sketching or creating the basic framework.  I have begun hundreds of stories and pictures and other things...that I lost inspiration or insite and the end was hard to see...after writing pages and pages of stories and pictures.

Back to journal keeping, I have discovered an interesting pattern to follow.  This is through my own experiences and that is every sunday I create a goal or two that I will work on throughout the week.  In my journal during the week, I will report to my journal how I did on it.  I also will go through the things that God had blessed me with throughout the day...there is always some miracle somewhere, if you look closely.  Vaugely touching upon what happened in my day, I will end my journal.  Unless there is some inspiration or help brought to my mind on how I need to accomplish more on my goal or maybe new goals I should work on during the weeks to follow.

Happiness!!!  I should stop talking, I can talk about journal keeping for a long time and all the different phsycological reasons you should keep and what you shouldn't do etc.... blah balh blah..

Jeremy, I'm glad you're not doing that anymore.  I can't check out the garbage anymore.  You're too far away. (hee hee)

I think that is one of the things that I have struggled with the most, because obviously it is a good thing to write in a journal.  The morbid reality of the fact is that those that can't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it, I just can't seem to keep up a constant habit, which basically means I have trouble forming the habit, and its so easy to break.  Plus the bad experience with Journal Keeping doesn't help me at all.  There are a lot of things that I have learned in life, and a Journal is one I will keep working on!  Which is one of the reasons that I like this forum so much, it is encouraging me to 'write down' more than I have in a long time.  Useful information that is!
