Well, since I need to do this and I haven't really thought about anybody yet, I decided that the best way to express myself would be through typing. So listen well all that will read and I will say that I taught you all! (or the first person that replies, either way)
First off, a Habit is an intersection of knowledge, skill and desire. Knowledge is understanding what to do and why to do it; skill is knowing how to do it; desire is motivation or wanting to do it. Habits come from all three components. Like learning to study, I need to know how, and be able to do it, but a crucial step is also having the desire to make the habit come into place.
The difference between character and personality ethic. Its like an iceberg, personality is what you see, and often is very temporary. Character is what cannot remain hidden forever, it is what we are deep inside, and it would be what is underneath the water in an iceberg.
Something new is the Maturity Continuum, it shows the relationship between the 7 habits that are the building blocks of this course and dependence, independence, and interdependence. The overall goal is not just independence, but true interdependence rounding off everything with a continuual renewal of concepts, not just sticking it into a closet and letting it go.

Oh and there is more!
The whole concept of three person teaching, there is the first teacher, then the original learner, then there is the new learner and the original learner who teaches him. So 1 teaches 2 and 2 teaches 3. Like I am doing right now.
Principles and Values are very different. Principles are time-proven truths that never change. Values are our personal interpretation of a principle and how we hold it in life. Example would be the way to plant a tomatoe doesn't change anywhere in the world. How you eat a tomatoe is vastly different. Eating is the value in this case.
A paradigm is how we look at the world, or how another person looks on the world. When we massively change our outlook, or put ourselves in another's shoes, a paradigm shift occurs. A good example of this would be my outlook on certain managers, one day they insult my intelligence, and the next day they praise me for a job well done.
Social Mirror is how society percieves us, and sometimes how we also perceive ourselves. It can be a help or a hindrance, but the main thing is to learn that it doesn't really matter what others think of us, but what we think of ourselves. A good example would be to get stressed out because everybody says you are old.
P and PC balance. This one confused me at first, but I think I got it. There is what you do (production) and how much you can do (production capability). If you only look for production or results without caring for the thing or person that is providing the results, then in the long run, you get less, way less. A good example of this would be managers vs. employees. Managers generally want results, and the numbers are king, usually very short term numbers. But because they only focus on the numbers (and treat everyone like they are replaceable or a number) then their longer term is messed up.
Emotional bank account, it is something that we have that records our relationships with other people. Constant withdrawals and deposits are being made as what people do to us or in front of us and how we perceive it. For example, I walk up to you after you have tried your very hardest to do the best you can, and start blasting you for small things. MAJOR WITHDRAWAL, because you definitely won't think so highly of me anymore. But maybe the next day, I walk up to you and give you a ten dollar raise with a sincere apology, that might or might not be a deposit.

All right, its time for the next installment of 7 Habits Reteaching Method.
The first idea is that we all have a stimulus response choice. Unlike animals, when we are influenced by something around us, we have the choice to how we react to it (response). Example, my web provider decides to leave their servers unmaintained and unmonitored, I choose to despise them for their inhumanity, but then realize that it doesn't really matter in the long run, because they are only two instances in the last year that it has ever happened!
Proactive vs. Reactive is a basic description on how we respond in the stimulus response model. Proactive realizes that he himself is choosing what he is right now, reactive thinks that everything around him is what is making him. Example, my boss makes me so angry (reactive) vs. my boss is making some bad decisions, but I will be happy anyway (proactive).
Theories of determinism, Genetic, Psychic, Environmental. These are some of the influences that surround us, traits we inherited (genetic), our upbringing (psychic), and our surroundings (environmental). Example of environmental would be the weather, bad weather, bad attitude, or I can carry my own weather and be happy anyway.
The four human endowments. These are something that all of us have been given in our quest to be proactive. Self-Awareness, Imagination, Conscience, and Independent Will. My personal favorite is Self-Awareness, which means that we can analyze our very thought patterns, or visualize us actually reading this post
(right...)
This next one is the easiest of all, it is called Circle of Influence/Concern. We all have things that we are concerned about, what not many of us analyze it really how much of an influence we have over what we worry about. When we focus on our circle of concern, our influence starts to diminish because of lack of attention. When we focus on our circle of influence, it grows to match or come close to our circle of concern. For example, Microsoft is big mean and evil, but no matter how much I try there is no possible way that I will have an influence on then, they are in my circle of concern, so when I focus away from Microsoft and think about who I can influence, likes those around me at school or work, then Microsoft isn't so important anymore.
Last but not least is the transition figure. This is the person that can transcend what is around them and lift others despite of huge obstacles. My example of this would be Jesus Christ, despite the complete rage that the saduccees and pharisees showed him, he would always reply with complete intelligence and put them in their place, he really transcended the normal mold!
All done, now don't I feel better already, still got 40 minutes to finish everything else ![]()

All right, Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
(I wish I had enough time to jam all this stuff in, it just wants so much of my time that I am not sure if I can feed all these classes enough of it!)
First and Second Creation, the idea that everything is created mentally/spiritually before it is created physically. Like a house is made on the blueprint before even the first shovelful of dirt is moved. Our character can also be formulated and built in our minds before it becomes our destiny.
Rescripting, as we grow, we are given various scripts on how to do things. When things go wrong, sometimes the script is to get mad and defensive. When things go right, it is to be relaxed and happy. As we become aware that they are scripts, we can know that we can also change them. Just like a son that is brought up under violence, he can turn around and carry a different script into his own family life.
Life Center, Alternate Centers, and Principle Centers. We all have a life center. This is the thing that we reflect to on all of our decisions. The four pillars that define it are Wisdom, Security, Guidance, and Power. These are the four pillars or a way to rate our center. Many common centers in our world are: Spouse, Family, Money, Work, Possession, Pleasure, Friend/Enemy, Church, and Self. What should be the true center of our life is principles that are unchanging and do not wish to divorce us, principles like charity and kindness.
Personal Mission Statement, each family, business, organizattion, etc. needs a Mission Statement. This is a definition of core values and goals that define where and what a group wants. The group can also be one person, as you can define what you want in your various roles in life and how you plan to do it. One of my missions as a student is to get B's or above in all of my classes.
Roles and Goals, already briefly explained. A mission statement should be precise, of course at first it might not be able to include all things, but just like the Constitution of America it is a changing and evolving document, or a living document. It must be applicable to everyone in the group and must reflect more than just what PR and the Execs think behind their conference doors. It must contributed to by everyone for it to be valid, and it must be something that every decision and action can be based around.
Well there it is guys, a little bit less concise than before, but what I learned from my little Habit 2 chapter in the book.

Habit 3 already, my how time flys, this one is especially applicable to me.
The first thing is the Time Management Matrix. This is a block of four squares called quadrants, each quadrant describes a different form of activity that we all take part it. Quadrant 1 is Urgent and Important, things like Crises, Pressing Problems, Deadlines. Quadrant 2 is Not Urgent and Important, this is the preparation square, where we take care of the activities before they reach quadrant 1. Quadrant 3 is Not Important and Urgent, these are things like Interruptions, telephone calls (sometimes), Some Meetings, Many Popular Activites. Quadrant 4 is the Time Wasting Quadrant or Not Urgent and Not Important, like Excessive TV and other things. Example of a Quadrant 1 activity would be a Calculus test that is tomorrow and I haven't studied or done the homework (theoretical situtation).
First things First is the idea of being able to establish roles and goals. The roals that we have can be anything from student to son, these establish what is really important and then we set goals that surround these roles. Example would be to set goals to spend more time in quadrant 2 in my role as a student.
Quadrant 2 Focus is when we focus on the longterm things that are important but they are not pressing us for solutions right now. This is like a test that is happening in two weeks vs. a test that is tomorrow.
The six step process of putting first things first is as follows: Connect to Mission, Review Roles, Identify Goals, Organize Weekly, Exercise Integrity, Evaluate. My favorite new one is the evaluation, I used to do this on my mission when we would have companionship inventory and talk about some of the things that we could do better individually and as a companionship and also about the ways we could help people we had met in the previous week or would meet in the coming.
Compass vs. Clock is relatively simple, it is that when we schedule things, or decide to do things we must first think on how they relate to where we are heading in life, like the big picture, our decisions must be based on a compass that is heading in the right direction instead of just trying to beat the clock and get as many things done as possible.
Private Victory is what happens when all the previous habits (1-3) are mastered and put into practice even in the smallest degree. Complete mastery comes with time but as they are practiced they will improve like any muscle.
This is such a complex class, it is shaking the very foundations of many of the things that I used to hold as centers to my life. It is extremely hard to have such a mind rocking class along with Calculus and Japanese, but like the habits are teaching me, it does not entirely matter what happens to me unless I am heading in the right direction first. Then and only then can other things be added.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
The overall idea from Habit 7 is to sharpen the saw or a process of self-renewal. Its like the Production/Production Capability thing of the Golden Egg and the Goose. If you don't watch both Production and P Capability, you are going to kill the goose. The idea of renewal comes in four different areas: Social/Emotional, Spiritual, Physical, and Mental.
Physical Renewal consists of things like exercise, good food, needful rest, and even power naps if you can make them work.
Mental Renewal is making more synapses by reading, writing, or thinking (I would add constructively, bad thinking equals no renewal)
Spiritual Renewal can be meditation, scripture reading, praying, and spending time in nature.
Social/Emotional Renewal is like strengthening relationships by making frequent daily deposits in the Emotional Bank Account of all the people we know.

*mumble, mumble* this is WAY late so here goes...
In Habit 4 you start to learn about a concept called think win win. While it is actually very understandeable it goes a little farther than just thinking it.
The most important thing to do before heading for the public vitory (habits 4,5,6) is the private victory (habits 1,2,3) which have been discussed before, if you don't get those first then you won't be able to move on to the public victory.
There are six paradigms of human interaction, win/win, win/lose, lose/win, lose/lose, win, and win/win or no deal. The ideal situation is win/win or win/win or no deal.
The first thing to do is rescript, or change our outlook on how we think about certain things. The major two factors to look at are cooperation vs. competition and to determine what are the benefits and problems of the two when trying to think win/win.
There are four dimensions to a win/win. Character, Relationships, Agreements, and Systems and Processes. The basic idea is that it is means AND the end that matters in a win/win. You can't get to a win/win through win/lose means.
A win/win character consists of three important things. Integrity, Maturity, and Abundance Mentality. The coolest on is the Abundance Mentality, that refers to the idea that there IS enough for everyone, that there is enough to go around, and what doesn't work out now, will work out later.
Win/win agreements consist of a few elements. Desired results, guidelines, resources, accountability, consequences. This is the process to achieve a true win/win agreement.
The last little bit is more on the abundance mentality vs. the scarcity mentality. The abundance mentality is where you really know that there is enough for everybody. You don't have to compete to the death, other things will come around. The scarcity mentality is when you don't feel that way.
Sorry about this guys, if any of you read it anyways. The class is awesome, but if you remember the time management matrix, I am living in quadrant one and its giving me a lot of stress. Shame on me, I'll do better though.
