Easter Egg Scriptures

Materials Needed:
Plastic Hollow Easter eggs
3 dimes
A piece of thin rope
Small bar or piece of soap
A small piece of red cloth cut square
A small nail and cross
A die
Several broken peices of rock
A strip of white linen type cloth (1" x 6")
A rock, round that can be rolled
A bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon stick, or other type of spice

For a unique presentation of the often heard Easter story, cut apart  the  following scriptures and put them in correspondingly numbered plastic  eggs.  Add the appropriate item (in parenthesis) except for the 12th egg,  which  should remain symbolically empty.

Serve the eggs in a decorated basket, from an egg carton, at each  place  setting at the dinner table, or hide the eggs and have an Easter Egg  Hunt,  then open the eggs in numerical order.

1. Matthew 26:39 (sacrament cup)

2. Matthew 26:14-15, Zechariah 11:12-14 (dimes)

3. Matthew 27:1-2 (piece of thin rope)

4. Matthew 27:24-26 (small bar of soap or piece of soap)

5. Matthew 27:28-30 (small piece of red cloth cut square)

6. Matthew 27:31-32 (small nail and cross) Press nail into hand  feel how it must have hurt.

7. Matthew 27:35-36 (a die)

8. Matthew 27:50-51,54 (broken pieces of rock)

9. Matthew 27:58-60 (white,linen type of cloth)

10. Matthew 27:60 (found rock that can be rolled)

11. Matthew 28:2,5; Mark 16:1 (bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon stick or  other  spice)

12. Matthew 28:6 (nothing--to remain symbolicaly empty)
