Back to Work

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

All good things must come to an end, just like my vacation.  Resonance of Fate is now occupying my PS3 and I have to admit that I am hooked.  Metroid Other M coming out in a couple of days will seriously be contending with that time if the reviews are to be believed.  I’ll have to admit that I hesitate slightly whenever the Dead or Alive creating Team Ninja has their name on anything, but I am prepared to be pleasantly surprised.  Epic Mickey along with Kirby, Zelda, and Donkey Kong make me think that the Wii will be turned on for more than an occasional Mario Kart and such.  I can’t say the same for my other systems, but I might have to buy a couple of sneaky little games coming out on the PSP.  I still think the platform is dead, but Valkyrie Chronicles 2 and the new Kingdom Hearts might convince me to dig it out again and then maybe purchase the remake of Valkyrie Profile and that weird stepchild Dissidia.

New Ipod Touch coming out on Wednesday (Sep 1) and I am waiting with bated breath.  Steve Jobs better come through, because I really want one.

New Week Start

Monday, August 16th, 2010

The time has come to start a new week, mentioning a few tidbits here and there.  Don’t bother with The Secret of Moonacre, poor writing, poor directing, poor editing, its a poor movie.  If you don’t believe me, watch the unicorn wave at the end, its really bad.  Sherlock the miniseries by BBC being finished is now a week old, what an amazing recreation of the Sherlock I’ve read about.  Strangely, there is also a Robin Hood made by the BBC, the first episode looks pretty humorous, its ultimate end is to be canceled as the main character left for other things, but its still got three seasons, see how that goes.  Might be an interesting week, might not be, but I’ve got to find out because time waits for no man, and most definitely not for me.

Epiphany of Sorts

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

Today is the day that I recognize that I have an attention deficit disorder.  I perceive that it is a problem I have had for a great while, but only now do I recognize it for what it is.  Now normally this would be part of the solution, but realizing this has only compounded the problem into something that is almost inconceivable.  For example, my recognition has not allowed me to complete any more of the various forms of media that I have purchased recently.  It has not allowed me to learn the piano in an instant, or the other assortment of instruments that I would like to learn to play.  Most wretchedly of all, I have not read any more books.  So I would humbly put forth that recognition of my problem has not increased my motivation to fix it even one iota.  Somewhere in the great book of justice lies the principle of consequence, and its not helping me at all.

Curses!  Foiled again.

Vacation Start!

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Another year, another vacation.  This one isn’t meant to be all that meaningful, of course that makes it more vacation-like (less to stress about).  I’ve started making new memories already, or more like revisiting old ones in that I watched an old series that Mike had on tape (though its my handwriting on it for what its worth).  Red Planet is a miniseries that aired on Fox a long time ago, though I have had a devil of a time finding it again (forgot that I taped it).  Watching the commercials was something to be remembered, I recognized all of them.  Perhaps this fuels my everlasting hatred for all things commercial-like now (even adblock in my browser).
